Cryptocurrencies and cryptoassets have evolved from a niche phenomenon into a regular topic of conversation in the worlds of finance and investment. With their growing presence, new banking services have also emerged that make it possible to manage these assets within familiar digital environments.
Creand has added CryptoWallet to its service offering. This solution integrates cryptoasset trading and custody into its online banking and mobile app.
This article aims to set out a clear and structured explanation of what the service is, how it works, who it is for and how you can start using it.
1. What is CryptoWallet?
CryptoWallet is a service that allows Creand clients to:
- Buy and sell Bitcoin and Ethereum.
- Hold cryptoassets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tether (USDT).
- Transfer cryptoassets between wallets held in the same name.
- Add cryptoassets from other wallets with no transfer fee.
Its main feature is that it is fully integrated into the Investments section of the bank’s online banking platform and mobile app. This means clients can view their cryptoassets alongside their other financial products and accounts in a single consolidated position.
The aim of the service is to provide clients with the infrastructure to manage their cryptoassets within their own digital banking environment, without the need for external applications.
2. How does it work?
CryptoWallet is available 24 hours a day via Creand’s online banking and mobile app. Access is through the Investments section, and the process works as follows:
- Service activation. The client requests access to CryptoWallet from within their digital banking platform. Before trading, they must complete the identification process (KYC) and the digital asset knowledge test.
- Buying and selling cryptoassets. Once the service is activated, the client can buy and sell Bitcoin and Ethereum in euros directly through the same platform. All transactions are recorded in real time within their personal dashboard.
- Custody and transfers. The service allows clients to hold Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tether in custody, as well as to add digital assets from another wallet with no transfer fee.
- Consolidated portfolio view. Cryptoassets appear within the same consolidated position as the client’s other financial products at Creand. This provides a single, comprehensive view of their assets managed with the bank.
The service operates independently within digital banking. Clients themselves decide on transactions and manage their digital assets using the same interface and access as for their other investment products.
3. Who is it for?
CryptoWallet is designed for Creand clients who wish to manage their cryptoassets within their digital banking environment. It is not a universally available service, as access requires the following:
- Being a client of the bank.
- Completing the Know Your Customer (KYC) process.
- Taking the digital asset knowledge test.
The service is useful both for people who already have experience with cryptoassets and want to bring them into their digital banking environment, and for clients who meet the requirements and wish to start investing in crypto within the same platform where they already manage their other financial products. In both cases, the aim is to offer a banking platform that enables clients to manage and hold their cryptoassets without leaving the Creand environment.
4. How to get started
To activate the service, clients can follow these steps:
- Request access to CryptoWallet via the Creand app or online banking, under the Investments section.
- Complete the identification (KYC) process and the digital asset knowledge test.
- Once these requirements have been validated, the client will gain access to CryptoWallet and can start using the available features (buying, selling and transfers).
- If a Creand client has any questions or needs operational assistance, they can contact their branch, speak to their personal adviser, or use the bank’s usual customer service channels.
5. Key points to bear in mind
CryptoWallet is a service that integrates cryptoassets within Creand’s digital banking platform. As such:
- It does not constitute an investment recommendation or financial advice.
- All transactions are decided and executed directly by the client within their digital banking environment.
- Cryptoassets have characteristics and risks that differ from those of traditional financial products.
6. Creand’s commitment to technological and financial innovation
The launch of CryptoWallet forms part of Creand’s ongoing commitment to innovation. The bank is working constantly to integrate new digital solutions into its financial services with the aim of:
- Adapting to changes in clients’ habits and needs.
- Incorporating technology that enables the management of new types of assets within a single platform.
- Offering services that keep pace with the financial market’s evolution towards the digital sphere.
This commitment to innovation is reflected in Creand’s strategy of progressively expanding its range of digital services and incorporating new types of assets into its financial offering. Through initiatives such as CryptoWallet, the bank opens the door to managing traditional products alongside digital assets, broadening the range of investment opportunities that clients can oversee within the same digital environment where they already carry out their day-to-day banking.
